Die Filmliste des Make-Up Artists Howard Berger umfasst mehrere hundert Titel. Den Oscar bekam er für seine Arbeit als Maskenbildner bei den Chroniken von Narnia, nominiert war er außerdem für seine Arbeit bei Hitchcock. Im Interview spricht er viel über Anthony Hopkins, der während der Maske einschlafen konnte, über Blut und seine Abneigung gegenüber HD. Das Interview ist auf englisch geführt.

Und auf der Make-Up Artist Design Show hat er gezeigt, wie man Blut realistisch auf einem Gesicht verteilt. Mit gewaschenen Händen hat er unserem Reporter Harald Schönfelder hinterher ein Interview gegeben, über das Verhältnis des Maskenbildners zum Star, Blut und besonders Anthony Hopkins, der Hauptdarsteller der Biografie "Hitchcock".

1. According to Wikipedia, you did over 200 films, a lot of horror movies, some more, some less subtle. Is it fair to say, that you like having blood on your hands?
2. I just thought, your job is a job, which never gets into some kind of a routine. Every movie ist different, every character, every actor is different ...
3. If it isn’t blood anymore, what did take its place?
4. Who has the last word on your creations, is it you or does the director say: No, I want it this way, not your way?
5. How is your relationship with actors, are you the guy they fear, because they have to sit still for hours on end or is it the other way round, because this is the only time, they can relax?
6. You got an Oscar for the Chronicles of Narnia, you were nominated for Hitchcock, you got a BAFTA and Saturn Award, you got an Emmy - whole bunch of stuff, right - does it help in your work, does it add some kind of authority?
7. Switching from people to the technical stuff around the movies: Since a few years, there are the HD cameras. Did it change the way you work?
